The national education science planning project is one of the three independent disciplines in the national social science fund project, which belongs to the national planning project and issues a declaration notice every year.

The National Education Science Plan has set up national major projects (national social science fund education major projects), national key projects (national social science fund education key projects), national general projects (national social science fund education general projects), national youth projects (national social science fund education youth projects), post-funded projects (national social science fund education late-stage funded projects), and western projects (national social science fund education western projects). As well as the entrusted topics (entrusted by the National Social Science Fund for Education), key topics of the Ministry of Education, special topics for teenagers, planning topics (the above topics are referred to as ministerial-level education topics) and national defense military education disciplines and other ministries and commissions.
