The state has established an agency for the placement of demobilized military cadres. Under the leadership of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the State Council, and the Central Military Commission, it is responsible for the placement of demobilized military cadres nationwide.
Provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government) shall establish corresponding agencies for the placement of demobilized military cadres, which shall be responsible for the placement of demobilized military cadres within their respective administrative regions.
The city (prefecture) may establish a resettlement agency for demobilized military cadres based on actual conditions.

2. Resettlement location 1.
Demobilized military cadres are generally resettled by their place of origin or the province (autonomous region, municipality directly under the Central Government) where they were when they joined the army. They can also be resettled in the place where their spouses had their permanent residence before joining the army or when they got married.

Demobilized military cadres whose spouses have joined the army can be resettled in the place where their spouses have permanent residence if they meet one of the following conditions: (1) The spouse has obtained permanent residence in Beijing for 4 years; (2) The spouse has obtained permanent residence in Shanghai for 3 years
; (3) The spouse has obtained permanent residence in Tianjin City, Chongqing City, provincial capital (autonomous region capital) city, and sub-provincial city for more than 2 years; (4) The spouse has obtained permanent residence in other cities.

Demobilized military cadres whose parents have no children or whose spouse is an only child can be resettled in the place where their parents or spouse’s parents have their permanent residence.
Unmarried retired military cadres can be resettled in the place where their parents have their permanent residence.
Demobilized military cadres whose parents or one of their parents are soldiers and have worked in remote and difficult areas for a long time can be resettled in their parents' place of origin, place of enlistment or parents' retirement resettlement place.

Demobilized military cadres who meet one of the following conditions can be resettled in the place of their spouse’s permanent residence, or in the place where their parents or their spouse’s parents or children have their permanent residence: (1) Those who choose their own careers; (2) Those who work in remote and difficult areas or are engaged in

Demobilized military cadres who are needed for national key tasks, key construction projects, newly built and expanded units, and other work can be resettled across provinces (autonomous regions, municipalities) with the approval of the department in charge of resettlement of demobilized military cadres in the province (autonomous region, municipality directly under the Central Government) where the receiving unit is located.
Demobilized military cadres who meet the conditions stipulated in the special policy for attracting talents in the resettlement area can be resettled in the area.
3. Work allocation and employment 1.
Demobilized military cadres who hold positions at the division level or demobilized military cadres who hold positions below the battalion level (including civilian cadres below the section level and professional and technical cadres who enjoy equivalent benefits, the same below) and have less than 20 years of military service shall be allocated according to plans adopted by the party committee and the government.

In areas where there are a large number of demobilized military cadres at division and regiment levels and it is really difficult to arrange leadership positions, corresponding non-leadership positions can be arranged.
Other demobilized military cadres who hold division or regiment-level positions or battalion-level leadership positions and have served for the minimum number of years shall be reasonably arranged with reference to the above provisions.

Demobilized military cadres who hold professional and technical positions should generally be appointed to corresponding professional and technical positions based on the professional and technical positions they hold in the military or the professional and technical qualifications recognized by the state; administrative positions may be arranged if work requires them.
