The record of the craftsman management system is in Kao Gong Ji.

"Kao Gong Ji" comes from "The Rites of Zhou" and is a document describing various work specifications and manufacturing techniques of the government-run handicraft industry during the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period in China.

This work records the design specifications and manufacturing processes of various types of handicrafts in Qi State. It retains a large number of handicraft production technologies and arts and crafts materials from the pre-Qin period, and records a series of production management and construction systems. To a certain extent, it reflects the

ideas.

"Kaogong Ji" is the earliest document on handicraft technology seen in China. The book occupies an important position in the history of Chinese science and technology, arts and crafts, and cultural history.

It was also unique in the world at the time.

The book contains more than 7,100 words, describing 30 types of work in six categories, including woodworking, metalworking, leather, dyeing, scraping, and ceramics, reflecting the level of science and technology and craftsmanship achieved by China at that time.

In addition, "Kao Gong Ji" also contains summaries of knowledge and experience in mathematics, geography, mechanics, acoustics, architecture, etc.

Regarding the author and the year of its publication, academic circles have long held different views.

Some scholars believe that "Kaogong Ji" is an official book of the Qi State (a book formulated by the Qi government to guide, supervise and evaluate the government's handicraft industry and the labor system of craftsmen). The author is a scholar from Qi Jixia Academy; the main content of "Kaogong Ji"

It was compiled from the end of the Spring and Autumn Period to the beginning of the Warring States Period, and part of the content was added in the middle and late Warring States Period.
