According to Baidu Encyclopedia, tianjin binhai hi-tech industrial development area is a part of Binhai New Area. Binhai New Area has jurisdiction over five economic functional zones: Development Zone, Bonded Zone, High-tech Zone, Dongjiang Bonded Port Area and Eco-city.
Tianjin binhai hi-tech industrial development area was established with the approval of Tianjin Municipal Committee and Municipal Government in 1988, and was approved by the State Council as the first batch of national high-tech industrial development zones in 199 1, with an overall planning area of 97.96 square kilometers, which is an important part of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei high-tech industrial belt.
Tianjin binhai hi-tech industrial development area includes Huayuan Science Park, Binhai Science Park, Nankai Science Park, Wuqing Science Park, Beichen Science Park and Tanggu Science Park. Its core areas, Huayuan Science Park and Binhai Science Park, are located in the southwest and east of Tianjin, and are the twin constellations of Tianjin's economic development.
