The school 1985 officially enrolled students, and 1998 became an authorized unit for master's degree. In March, 20001year, with the approval of Shandong provincial government, the former Shandong Building Materials Industry School and the former Shandong Fisheries School merged into Yantai University.
20 12 was approved as the first batch of construction units of Shandong prestigious school project, and was approved to serve the national special needs doctoral talent training project in the same year.
