School majors: Beijing Institute of Petrochemical Technology was founded in 1978. It is a general institution of higher learning with engineering as its main focus, engineering, science, management, economics, and liberal arts interpenetrating multiple disciplines, and with distinctive engineering practice characteristics.
The school developed from the Second Branch of Beijing Institute of Chemical Technology and Beijing Petrochemical College. It was renamed in 1992. In 2000, it was transferred to the management of Beijing City by Sinopec Group Corporation. It has successively cooperated with Beijing University of Chemical Technology, Beijing University of Technology and other universities throughout the process.
