Aging and death are the necessary stages of life. Just like getting married and having children, we should take a long-term view and work together. You might as well think about this topic that can't be avoided for life. Before thinking about how to communicate with my parents, I made the following thoughts and arrangements for my own affairs.
1. Make a will every year.
(1) Properly arrange assets, designate insurance and agents, protect the rights and interests of heirs and avoid disputes;
(2) Make clear the end point of medical treatment, and state that you don't want to receive treatment under unconscious circumstances to avoid the embarrassment of decision makers;
(3) To dispose of the remains, a donation agreement was signed in the United States. If it is in China, it will be handled according to the custom, and everything will be simple, and the burial place will be designated to reduce the contradiction in decision-making.
2. Leave legacy wealth.
(1) material, leaving as many high-quality assets as possible, and choosing a good platform and soil is to feed future generations rather than bind them;
(2) Spirit, rich life experience and open-minded attitude towards life. The conciseness and sublimation of family spirit should be passed down through letters like Rockefeller and Zeng Guofan.
(3) Funds and libraries, on the basis of taking good care of small families, should benefit everyone as much as possible and donate reasonably and effectively.
3. Reduce unnecessary obstacles.
(1) Diligence and thrift, the burden of excessive material in the early stage, and the accumulation of various items under consumerism are all wastes of precious resources in life, so set an example and lead children to live a simple life;
(2) Funeral needs no extravagance, no ceremony, and low-key leave. What you want to say has been agreed before you die. After exchanging the money for treating the elderly, the gold coffin board and the Feng Shui cemetery, you can designate it as a donation to a poor female student in a mountain village in Yunnan.
(3) Planting trees will spread all over the world, and there is no need to fly around to sweep graves every year. It's good for Tomb-Sweeping Day to plant a tree or adopt a tree where they live.
(I can't help but imagine who will make it a commercial project in the future, and a good business model is the most sustainable. The basic framework is clear and stable, and it is fine-tuned every year according to the specific situation. If you think clearly, you won't be afraid. You are not afraid to face it or talk to your children.
It's just that the upward management is not done well and I can't talk to my parents about death well.
