The Medical Security Bureau mainly does the following work:
1. Formulating the draft laws and regulations, policies, plans and standards of the medical security system, formulating departmental rules and organizing their implementation;
2. Organize the formulation and implementation of measures for the supervision and management of medical insurance funds;
3. Organize to formulate policies on financing and treatment of medical insurance;
4. Organize the formulation of unified medical insurance catalogue and payment standard in urban and rural areas, establish dynamic adjustment mechanism, formulate negotiation rules for medical insurance catalogue access and organize its implementation;
5. Establish a mechanism for reasonably determining and dynamically adjusting the price of medical services paid by medical insurance;
6. Formulate bidding and purchasing policies for drugs and consumables and supervise their implementation;
7. Be responsible for medical security management, public service system and information construction;
8. Complete other tasks assigned by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council.
Social medical insurance means that when a worker falls ill, the social insurance institution gives appropriate subsidies or reimbursements for the medical expenses he needs, so that the worker can recover his health and work ability and enter the social reproduction process as soon as possible.
