Legal analysis: Illegal social organizations refer to organizations that carry out activities in the name of social organizations without being registered by the civil affairs department, and organizations that continue to operate in the name of social organizations after their registration is revoked, especially some illegal societies involving politics, ideology and religion.

Organizations, including private and even illegal social organizations that pretend to be government departments and well-known media, incite reaction through the Internet and other means, slander the government and the business community, or slander and sow discord.

Legal basis: Article 73 of the "Regulations on the Registration and Management of Social Organizations" Without registration, activities are carried out in the name of social groups, foundations, and social service institutions without authorization, and the sponsors carry out activities in the name of the social groups, foundations, and social service institutions to be established.

If activities unrelated to the initiative are deregistered or the legal person registration certificate is revoked and the activities continue to be carried out in the name of social groups, foundations, or social service agencies, the registration management authority shall ban them, confiscate illegal property and illegal gains, and may impose penalties on those directly responsible

A fine of not less than RMB 20,000 but not more than RMB 200,000 shall be imposed.

Article 74 If a social organization commits fraud or defrauds its registration when applying for registration, the registration management authority shall revoke the registration.

Article 75 If a social organization engages in or funds activities that endanger national unity, security, or national unity, or illegally engages in or illegally funds religious activities, the registration management authority shall revoke the legal person registration certificate and include the social organization on a list of serious violations of law and dishonesty.
