A meaningful summer camp

A Meaningful Summer Camp 1 In order to have a healthy and meaningful summer vacation, my parents signed me up to participate in the Little Reporter and Boy Scout Summer Camp hosted by Dongguan Youth Daily.

On the morning of July 12, 20xx, more than 200 children from primary schools from all over the world gathered at Songshan Lake Central Primary School to prepare to officially enter the camp.

I waved goodbye to my parents, and with anxiety and excitement, I started my seven-day summer camp life.

In collective life, we must first learn to organize housekeeping, learn to clean, fold quilts, fold clothes, and place and organize daily necessities.

This is really a challenge for many children who have never worked at home.

I am very happy that I was selected as the dormitory leader. I will lead the 8 friends in the dormitory to eat and live together, work together, and make the dormitory very disciplined and tidy.

On a new day, facing the sun at 7:00 o'clock, we started our morning exercise. After the physical exercise started, we could have a delicious breakfast.

Then comes military training.

For me, standing in the military posture is a technical job. The feet should be 60 degrees apart, the hands should be close to the thighs, the head should be raised, the chest should be raised, and the eyes should be looked forward.

At this time, even if there are mosquitoes buzzing around me, I can't move at all.

The instructor also trained us to stop and turn, salute, stand, squat, look left and right, and swing arms forward and backward. My legs are sore and my feet are tired, but my belief in being a strong man has always supported me.

Go down.

There are cultural classes and games in the afternoon, and sharing and diary writing in the evening.

In these seven days, we experienced water outages, power outages, heat and other difficulties, but we overcame them one by one.

Although I am alone these days, thinking about challenging my ability to live independently, I insist on not calling my parents.

Until one night, we all received a letter from our parents. Reading those kind words, we were overwhelmed with sadness. We all cried so hard that we actually missed home quite a bit.

The 7.6-kilometer hiking and military training exercised our bodies, and the colorful cultural classes improved our writing and reading skills.

Various interesting games give us many opportunities to experience and use our brains.

I feel like I have learned a lot and gained a lot.

On the last day of summer camp, I had to say goodbye to my friends who had been with me for seven days. I felt so sad to say goodbye.

I want to say to the teachers and instructors: Thank you, you have worked hard!

I want to say to my friends: Unity is strength, persistence is victory, and we have done it.

A Meaningful Summer Camp 2 The return train to Hunan is running at high speed, which means that we are getting closer to home and farther and farther away from Beijing.

Xinyi beside me was sleeping soundly on the seat, and I looked at the scenery passing by on both sides, my thoughts drifting far away... I remembered the daily waiting before, and the excitement when setting off.

During this week together, we were so fulfilled and satisfied every day, because Beijing Hongai Fund took care of us from morning to night - all the basic necessities of life were arranged.

There are also children from all over the world and their accompanying parents or teachers who are participating in the activities. We are destined to come together and live together like a family. I am really happy!

On the first day, the sun was very bright. We carried the prepared food and water (the same thing every day after going out) and took the children to the Olympic Park to play a treasure hunt.

While they were searching for treasure, I kept looking around and found many plants that we don’t have in the south, such as crabapples, green apples, and ginkgos that are full of fruits... Yes, there are ginkgo trees everywhere in Beijing, and most of them are full of fruits.

This is relatively rare in our hometown.

Then we went to the Science and Technology Museum, with the purpose of letting children understand the development of science and technology in China and the world, and stimulating children's curiosity and love for science.

However, the effect is not very ideal.

The children did not get into the mood and just played. After walking for a day, everyone seemed a little tired and sat down wherever there was space.

The next day, the sun was still very bright. Our mission today was to visit the National Wildlife Park and climb the Great Wall.

The zoo is divided into the beast area (car tour, no getting off), herbivores, and other small animals.

The car turned into the beast area, and we saw black bears basking in the sun, sun bears that could open their own drinks bottles, ferocious Siberian tigers sleeping in, and lions walking in the forest... After leaving the beast area, we started to visit on foot

Other animals: monkeys, ostriches, peacocks, various birds and chickens, zebras, camels, giraffes, black swans...many, many species, and my favorite elk.

Because I happened to have studied the text "Elk", I learned more about this rare animal with a legendary experience.

It was a worthwhile trip to see it with my own eyes today. It looks good-looking and docile. It was not restrained at all when seeing tourists, and even snatched our food.

You can touch it and it will nuzzle you with its head. It is so cute. I like it very much.

After leaving the zoo, we drove straight to the foot of the Great Wall.

Even if you don’t say that the Great Wall is not a hero, let’s climb it.

The sun was hot enough at two o'clock in the afternoon, so climbing up was definitely a challenge, but the children were eager to try it, and so was I.

The Great Wall was much steeper than I thought. Some steep places were close to 90 degrees. We all had to use our hands and feet.

The higher you go, the fewer people there are, because some are afraid of heights, and some are physically unable to keep up...but I can do it!

My Xinyi and several other children climbed very fast. I stood on the top and shouted "Teacher, come on!" I really admire them.

Soon, I caught up with him.
