Scholarship for foreign scientists. Every year, the Humboldt Foundation provides scholarships to about 600 outstanding foreign scientists with doctoral degrees under the age of 40 to conduct scientific research in the Federal Republic of Germany for a long time (1 to 2 years). The Central Selection Committee is composed of 65,438+000 German scientists from various disciplines, and is responsible for selecting applicants under the leadership of the President of the German Research Federation. The only criterion for selection is academic level, regardless of country or major. From 1979 to 1998, a total of 774 China scholars won Humboldt Scholarships, including Dean of China Academy of Sciences, Vice President of Chinese Academy of Sciences Yan and Vice Minister of Education. Dr. Wang from international journal of sediment research Training Center was the first scholar in the water conservancy field to receive the Humboldt Fund, and then 7-8 people including professors from Tsinghua University Water Conservancy Department received the Fund.
