A fund management company refers to a company established in accordance with relevant laws and regulations to manage fund operation activities such as fund raising, fund share subscription and redemption, fund property investment and income distribution. The legal raising of securities investment funds shall be undertaken by the fund manager. Fund managers are generally held by legally established fund management companies. As a fund manager, it shall be approved by the the State Council Securities Regulatory Authority. Fund management companies need to establish a sound internal control system and take effective measures to prevent violations of the Securities Law and the Fund Law.
In China, fund managers are generally held by legally established fund management companies, and securities companies, asset management subsidiaries of securities companies, insurance asset management companies and other institutions that have obtained Public Offering of Fund management qualifications can also serve as fund managers.
