Wenzhou Medical University is a provincial college in Zhejiang Province. The school can be traced back to Zhejiang Medical College and was founded in 19 12. 1958 In August, Zhejiang Medical College was moved from Hangzhou to Wenzhou, initially named as "Zhejiang Second Medical College", and later named as "Wenzhou Medical College" after its location, and renamed as "Wenzhou Medical University" in 20 13.
20 15 became a university jointly established by Zhejiang Provincial Government, National Health and Wellness Commission and Ministry of Education. 20 17 became the key construction university in Zhejiang province.
The school adheres to the guidance of social needs and the purpose of people's satisfaction, and strives to cultivate outstanding medical talents with feelings, self-confidence, ability to do things and innovation. There are 30 undergraduate enrollment majors in the school, involving four disciplines: medicine, science, engineering and management.

In cooperation with Lublin Medical University, the first overseas school-running project of clinical medical education in China was held, and overseas Confucius Institutes were established in cooperation with Oriental University in Thailand and new york State University in the United States. It was selected as the implementing agency of the National Fund for Studying Abroad "Young Key Teachers' Study Abroad Project" and the first batch of construction units of "Zhejiang Internationalized Universities".
