Wikileaks has revealed that Pfizer employees in Nigeria told American diplomats that the company hired private investigators to expose the "corruption scandal" of the former Nigerian attorney general, so as to force him to cancel the prosecution of the drug test in Trofin.
In 2009, Pfizer reached an agreement with the state government of Kano, Nigeria to reduce the compensation from $2 billion to $75 million, including the establishment of a fund of $35 million. Although the case has been closed, Pfizer said that children's death and disability were caused by meningitis, not drugs.
