There are many Buddhist foundations in Hong Kong and Taiwan, but there are no official ones in mainland China. Because we are led by the Communist Party, a proletarian regime, and an atheist, there are certain restrictions and management on religious activities.
Foundations must be managed and organized by the state. Individuals and groups cannot establish them on their own and must be affiliated to a certain national system. Therefore, religious groups do not have independent fund accounts, but religious (including Buddhist) groups have the right to raise funds on their own.
