The main duties of the Social Science Association are to guide, organize and carry out various academic theoretical research activities, actively promote and carry out academic exchanges at home and abroad, and organize social science popularization, intellectual development and consulting services.

Organize and carry out awards for outstanding social science achievements, collect and sort out social science research information, provide social science research information services for the municipal party Committee and municipal government, cooperate with the city's social science planning work and be responsible for the financing, funding and management of social science book publishing funds.
