According to Xinhua News Agency, the Beijing University of Technology Comprehensive Science and Technology Building funded by Li Ka-shing is one of the 50 key construction projects in Beijing, with a total investment of 92 million yuan and a construction area of ??31,000 square meters.

After the comprehensive science and technology building is completed, it will include a laser center, a transportation intelligent system research center, a materials analysis and testing center, an audio-visual education center, a science and technology development institute, and a school of electronic and control engineering.

Mr. Li Ka-shing has long been an enthusiastic supporter of education and public welfare undertakings in the Mainland. To date, he has donated more than HK$4 billion to educational and medical institutions in the Mainland.
