Because since the opening of the National Natural Science Foundation of China Network Information System (isisn.nsfc.gov.cn) on January 20, 2022, more than 1.2 million resumes have been processed, and the number of application submissions currently exceeds 35. million times, and the number of PDF generated has reached more than 2.4 million times. Starting from March 14, the number of system users increased significantly (70,000 people accessed it within half an hour), and there were situations where the information system was unable to log in, was waiting in queues, or had access congestion.
After investigation, it was found that the main reasons for system congestion are the following three aspects:
First, because most of the supporting units set deadlines around March 13. As a result, the number of system visits is very concentrated;
Second, it relies on all online audits of the unit, often performing single batch downloads, and frequent audit and return operations;
Third, it is due to this year’s new Additional project applicants and key participants will collect resumes and full text of achievements online. Due to the superposition of the above three factors, although the system did not crash, untimely response occurred from time to time.
