At the beginning of 1928, Bethune returned to Montreal, Canada, and became the first assistant of Dr. edward archibald, the pioneer of Canadian thoracic surgery at Royal Victoria Hospital of McGill University. During this period, he invented and improved 12 kinds of medical surgical instruments and published 14 influential academic papers. 1933, employed as the health department consultant of Canadian federal and local governments. 1935 was elected as a member and director of the American society of thoracic surgery.

1, the tomb of Bethune
On the west side of the Martyrs Cemetery in North China Military Region, Zhongshan Road, Shijiazhuang City, there is a granite tomb base with a semicircular top. There is a white marble tombstone in front of the tomb, engraved with "Doctor Bethune's Tomb", and there are photos of Bethune's revolutionary activities in the corridors on both sides. There is a full-length statue of Bethune in the square in front of the tomb.
This hospital is named after Bethune.
Bethune International Peace Hospital (Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province) and Bethune Medical University (merged into Jilin University in 2000 and renamed bethune medical school) were established in his name. York University named bethune medical school after him.
3. Bethune statue
1949, moved and buried in the Martyrs Cemetery of North China Military Region in Shijiazhuang. The only two statues in the cemetery were erected for him and Dr. Ke Dihua. He is the first foreigner to have a statue of the government of China.
