Jules Verne

jules verne (February 8, 1828 ~ March 25, 195) was born in Nantes, a seaport in western France. My father is a successful lawyer, and he is bent on his son's inheritance. But Verne loved the ocean since he was a child and longed for voyage and adventure. At the age of 11, he volunteered to go aboard as an apprentice and sail to India, only to be found by his family and taken home. For this reason, Verne was severely beaten, and he lay in bed with tears and promised: "I will only lie in bed and travel in fantasy in the future." Perhaps it was this childhood experience that objectively prompted Verne to gallop in fantasy all his life and create so many famous sci-fi works.

Once, Verne left early from a party, and when he went downstairs, he suddenly became childlike and slipped down the handrail of the stairs, not wanting to bump into a fat gentleman. Verne shook his head and claimed that there was no authentic Nantes scrambled eggs in Paris, because he was from Nantes and was good at it. From then on, their friendship began, and they once wrote plays together, which created favorable conditions for Verne to embark on the road of creation. The fat gentleman's name is Dumas. After graduation, he devoted himself to the creation of poetry and drama. For this reason, he was not only severely reprimanded by his father, but also lost his financial support. He had to struggle in poverty and enjoy reading. He admired Hugo, Balzac, Dumas and Shakespeare in England. In Paris, he wrote 2 plays (unpublished) and some romantic poems.

Later, Verne collaborated with Dumas to create the play Broken Straw, which was staged, marking Verne's initial success in the literary world. In the process of continuing his creation, Verne felt that literary creation seemed to lack a way out, and he found that people in the literary world were trying to find a way out and try to integrate knowledge from other fields into drama. For example, Dumas integrated history into literature, while Balzac integrated social ethics into literature ... At this time, Verne discovered that only geography had not been developed.

So Verne spent a year experimenting and created works such as Wintering on Glaciers, but they were not published.

In p>1856, Verne came to the northern city of Amiens by train, met a beautiful widow with two children, fell in love at first sight and proposed, and then got married. Then Verne moved to the past and began to write seriously. He was 29 years old.

After Verne wrote Five Weeks in a Balloon, 16 publishing houses ignored it and threw themselves into the fire angrily. His wife rescued him and sent him to the 17th publishing house for publication. The editor who appreciated this book was Hecl, and Verne met a bosom friend and forged a lifelong friendship with him. Hegel signed a contract with Verne to publish two science fiction novels a year.

After the publication of Five Weeks in a Balloon, Verne's creation entered a multi-faceted exploration period. He tried various writing methods and explored in various directions, which was out of control. Two books are published every year with the overall title of Strange Travel, including Journey to the Center of the Earth, From the Earth to the Moon, Around the Moon, Two Wan Li under the Sea, Mysterious Island, etc., covering land, sea and sky ... After that, exploration stopped, it began to mature, entered a stable development period, and created 8 days around the earth, adventures of the solar system and two-year vacation. With the increase of popularity, Verne's wealth is also growing rapidly.

Verne was not very happy in his later years, and his writing decreased and he entered a period of decline. His "The Castle of Carpathian" is autobiographical, showing the hidden side of life.

Verne suffered from hemiplegia on March 17th, 195, lost consciousness on 24th, and died at 8: am on 25th.

On March 28th, 195, there was a big funeral, and the whole world sent telegrams to mourn this great science fiction writer.

However, the characters in Verne's novels are all the same except a few. It seems that he can't create more important characters. The characters are simple good guys and bad guys with no psychological activities. Verne's works are full of knowledge, but he himself is a mystic of the universe and has a mysterious worship of the world. In his novels, sometimes the thinking is not deep enough and the theme is often repeated.
