Based on the needs of national economic construction and social development, in order to strengthen the cultivation of high-level talents in science, technology, culture, education, management and other fields, and promote the For exchanges and cooperation with countries around the world, in accordance with the national government-sponsored study abroad selection methods and annual selection plans, the China Scholarship Council (hereinafter referred to as the China Scholarship Council) plans to select 7,245 students of various types to study abroad in 2005 across the country with funding from the National Study Abroad Fund. , including: ① 810 people are selected with full funding from the National Study Abroad Fund; ② 424 people are selected according to exchange scholarship projects with relevant countries; ③ 5099 people are selected according to special study abroad projects; ④ 912 people are selected according to relevant cooperation projects.

3. Selection of Disciplines
In order to more closely coordinate with the country’s economic construction and social development, and make the selection of nationally funded study abroad programs more targeted, the China Scholarship Council will continue to focus on funding There are seven major disciplines and professional fields, namely: communications and information technology, agricultural high-tech, life sciences and population health, materials science and new materials, energy and environment, engineering science, applied social sciences and WTO-related disciplines. For specific disciplines and majors, please consult the "2005 National Study Abroad Fund Key Disciplines and Majors Guide".
At the same time, the China Scholarship Council will continue to encourage and support personnel in other disciplines to apply for the National Study Abroad Fund.
