China Food Fermentation Industry Research Institute is the earliest scientific research institution engaged in the preservation and management of industrial microbial resources in China. 1953 set up an industrial microbial strain preservation group in the former Shanghai industrial laboratory, 1956 began to develop advanced freeze-drying vacuum preservation technology and methods for microbial strains. 1958 The strain preservation group moved to Beijing with the Fermentation Industry Research Institute of the Ministry of Light Industry, and established and improved various management systems and technical methods for industrial microbial strain preservation, and established relatively complete strain preservation management procedures and systems.
From 65438 to 0979, China Industrial Microbial Germplasm Resources Conservation and Management Center (CICC) was formally established, and eight germ seed stations were established in eight provinces and cities across the country, which constituted the national industrial microbial germplasm resources conservation and management network, laying a foundation for the protection and management of industrial microbial germplasm resources in China.
CICC conducted a comprehensive and systematic investigation and collection of industrial microbial strains resources in China, completed the sorting, identification and cataloging of the resources, and established the industrial microbial strains resources and archives in China, which ended the situation that the sources of industrial microbial strains in China were unknown, the classification was chaotic, and they were scattered and preserved and repeatedly managed, and made great contributions to the protection and utilization of industrial microbial resources in China. CICC's key scientific research project "Study on Classification, Identification, Naming and Cataloguing of Industrial Microbes" won the second prize of the Ministry of Light Industry 1987, the second prize of the Beijing Second Commercial Bureau 1984, the second prize of Shanghai Food Industry Company 1985 and the third prize of Tianjin Science and Technology Progress1.
1984- 1986, CICC presided over the scientific and technological development fund project of the Ministry of light industry, "Study on the determination of production performance of alcohol, soy sauce mold and yeast", systematically determined and screened the production performance of 868 strains of alcohol, soy sauce mold and yeast, and tested nearly 40 production performances according to different uses, and obtained about 6,000 measured data, which basically clarified the importance. This is an important applied basic research work of CICC, which provides a reliable scientific basis for the scientific management of strains, the development and utilization of strain resources, and the upgrading of production strains, and has important scientific, economic and social significance in providing experimental materials for scientific research and teaching and foreign exchanges.
1990- 1992, CICC undertook the project of "Development of Microbiological Database in Food Industry" funded by the former Ministry of Light Industry, and developed the first professional database management system that should be used in the field of microbial preservation in food industry in China, which filled the blank of industrial microbial preservation management database in food industry in China and created favorable conditions for scientific management of industrial microbial resources and communication at home and abroad. The database includes five sub-databases, namely, industrial microbial species catalogue database, preservation management database, preservation technology database, species distribution database and professional work management database. The database has complete items and reliable data, which can meet the requirements of scientific and modern management of preservation work.
For more than 50 years, the institution construction of industrial microbial culture preservation center has been highly valued by the institute. The leaders of Qin Hanzhang, Wang Weiqing, Mo Xiangyun and Tang Erming are not only academic leaders in this field, but also have made remarkable achievements in the professional field. As the core organization in the field of industrial microbial resources management in China, CICC has trained a large number of high-quality talents engaged in industrial microbial resources research and industrial development, and made great contributions to the development of industrial microbial industry in China.
Since 2000, CICC has accelerated the construction of national industrial microbial strain resources institutions, re-planned the institutional setup, talent structure, business scope, product series and development direction, comprehensively upgraded instruments and equipment, established a molecular biological strain identification laboratory, introduced the international advanced microbial strain identification and analysis system, improved the liquid nitrogen ultra-low temperature preservation facilities and low-temperature standby strain bank, and realized the industrial preservation, identification and * * * sharing network.
In 200 1 year, CICC established the China Industrial Microbiological Strain Resources Network, which took the lead in realizing the online sharing of strain resources in China. In 2002, an international industrial microbial strain resource exchange platform was established to provide domestic enterprises and scientific research institutions with entrusted introduction services of international microbial strains. At present, the most efficient and smooth domestic and international channels for introducing basic strains for quality control testing and scientific research have been established, and a good reputation has been established; In 2004, CICC undertook the pilot work of national industrial microbial resources platform construction and * * * sharing, was responsible for the standardization and integration of national industrial microbial resources and the construction of * * * sharing platform, and took the lead in re-establishing and restoring the * * * sharing network of industrial microbial resources in China, effectively promoting the social * * sharing and utilization of industrial microbial resources.
