NU Free Document License (or GFDL for short) is a copyright agreement for open content with left copyright (or "anti-copyright"). It was released by the Free Software Foundation for the GNU project in 2000. At present, you can query the full text of 1.2 version.

This agreement applies to all computer software documents and other reference and guidance materials. According to the agreement, all derivatives using the agreement materials, whether modified or copied, must also adopt the GNU Free Document Agreement certificate. The materials used in this agreement can be used for commercial purposes, but anyone who is willing to abide by this agreement must be allowed to further modify or distribute the materials according to this agreement.

At present, Wikipedia is the world's largest document collaboration project issued under the GNU Free Document Protocol certificate. For all information about Wikipedia's use of GNU Free Document Protocol certificates, please see Wikipedia: Copyright Information.
