What is a green card?
Green certificate is the only proof of the environmental attributes of renewable energy in China, and it is also the only certificate to identify the production and consumption of renewable energy power.

As a renewable energy electricity certificate, green certificate is used for renewable energy electricity accounting and certification. Green certificate is the only proof of the environmental attributes of renewable energy in China, and it is also the only certificate to identify the production and consumption of renewable energy power.

In terms of standardizing the issuance of green certificates, green certificates will be issued for the power generated by all renewable energy power generation projects such as wind power (including distributed wind power and offshore wind power), solar power (including distributed photovoltaic power generation and photothermal power generation), conventional hydropower, biomass power generation, geothermal power generation and ocean energy power generation, so as to achieve full coverage of green certificate issuance.

For conventional hydropower projects in stock, tradable green certificates will not be issued for the time being, and the corresponding green certificates will be directly transferred with electricity for free. Issued tradeable green certificates for fully market-oriented conventional hydropower projects newly put into operation after June 65438+ 10/(inclusive) in 2023.

The role of implementing green card

As a green financial tool, green certificate can help enterprises to realize environmentally-friendly power generation and raise funds for national environmental protection.

By purchasing green certificates, enterprises can prove that they have adopted renewable energy in power production and achieved the purpose of environmental protection. This can not only improve the social image of enterprises, but also help enterprises meet the requirements of relevant environmental laws and regulations.

In addition, green certificates are liquid and tradable, which enables them to trade and circulate in the green financial market. Through this market-oriented means, we can better promote the development and application of renewable energy, and at the same time raise more funds for national environmental protection.
