Through its powerful immune regulation, cell repair, tissue and organ culture and replacement, major human diseases and organ injuries that cannot be cured by conventional means at present are expected to be cured by regenerative medical technologies such as stem cells in the near future. China has formulated a medium-and long-term plan for research in the field of stem cell regeneration, and major national fund projects and major national science and technology projects in the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" have laid out stem cell and transformation research projects.
