In order to improve the environmental awareness of the whole nation and promote the environmental protection and sustainable development of China. According to the articles of association of China Environmental Protection Foundation, China Environmental Protection Foundation established China Environmental Award, which is a social award for environmental protection in China. The selection targets are distributed in all walks of life and all over the world. The selection process is a process of comprehensively promoting environmental protection, educating the public and showing the environmental image of China to the international community. Since the first session in 2002, Ezhou, Guilin, Baotou, Hangzhou, Xishuangbanna, Tianjin, Baoji, Shanghai, Nanning, Jincheng and Yichang have won the China Baosteel Environmental Excellence Award.
