By awarding the Wu Jieping Prize in Urology and Medicine, Wu Jieping Medical Foundation cooperated with successful enterprises and individuals at home and abroad to establish a special fund to reward organizations and individuals who have made contributions to the development of medical and health undertakings.

With the approval of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Science and Technology, Wu Jieping Medical Foundation established the "Wu Jieping Prize for Medicine" in 2006 to promote the development and progress of medical science and technology in China and reward medical science and technology workers who have made outstanding contributions to the development of medical and health undertakings in China. And hired 15 famous experts and scholars to form the first Wu Jieping Prize in Medicine. The chairman of the jury is Han Qide, chairman of the Central Committee of the Jiu San Society and chairman of the China Association for Science and Technology.
