1, Li Jijun (1933/kloc-0-July 2, 20201), a native of Pengxian County, Sichuan Province, is a geographer, a Quaternary geologist, an academician of China Academy of Sciences, a professor, doctoral supervisor and honorary dean of the Institute of Western Environment and Climate Change of Lanzhou University.
2. Li Jijun has long been engaged in the study of modern glaciers, Quaternary ancient glaciers and the uplift of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and their impact on environmental changes in East Asia and the world, and has unique views on the origin of the Yellow River, the formation of loess and the ancient glaciers in Lushan Mountain in eastern China.
