BANK OF COMMUNICATIONS (BCM) was founded in 198 (the thirty-fourth year of Guangxu), and it was one of the four largest banks in China and one of the early note-issuing banks in China. Joint-stock commercial banks are now one of the five largest state-owned commercial banks in China. Bank of Communications is a global partner of China World Expo 21. After the founding of the Republic of China, the Bank of Communications was entrusted by the Central Bank to undertake the treasury revenue and expenditure and issue and exchange national currency with the Bank of China. In 1928, the Legislative Yuan of the National Government passed the Regulations on Bank of Communications, and Bank of Communications became a special bank to help agriculture, mining and industry.

In order to adapt to the reform and development of China's economic system, on July 24th, 1986, as a pilot of financial reform, the State Council approved the re-establishment of Bank of Communications. On April 1, 1987, Bank of Communications, which was reorganized, officially opened to the outside world, becoming the first national state-owned joint-stock commercial bank in China, with its head office located at No.2 Jiangxi Middle Road (formerly Jincheng Bank Building).
