China Modern Literature Research Association adheres to the serious, solemn and steady style, conducts diversified and open academic exchanges, and strives to promote discipline construction and academic development. Since its establishment, it has held nine annual meetings, eight Council meetings and three innovative symposiums with academic discussions as the main content, focusing on topics such as modern literature research in the new period, historical review of China literature in the 20th century, new literature evaluation criteria, left-wing writers and left-wing literature, 1940s literature and seventeen-year literature, and Zhao Shuli and agriculture, countryside and farmers literature. China Modern Literature Research Series was founded on 1979, and was co-edited with Beijing Publishing House and China Modern Literature Museum. Up to now, 100 has been published in more than 3000 issues, which has played an important role in cultivating new academic talents and promoting the development of disciplines. In addition, he also edited and published academic works such as The Collision between the East and the West-Cultural Reflection on the May 4th New Literature. Thanks to the efforts of several generations of members, the study of modern literature in China not only shows its maturity with fruitful results, but also provides valuable topics for academic circles at home and abroad. Some members have made remarkable achievements in interdisciplinary research (such as poetics, narratology, ancient literature, comparative literature, ideological history, etc.). ).

In order to encourage academic innovation and promote academic prosperity, China Modern Literature Research Association established the Yao Yao Academic Fund with the generous sponsorship of Mr. Fan Jun and others, and established the Yao Yao Academic Award in May 2000. The judging cycle of this award is once every four years, and it has been judged twice so far.
