Aerospace Research Institute was established on February 30th, 2008, 65438. It is a combination of the former Department of Aircraft Engineering and the Department of Applied Mechanics.
The Ministry of Aerospace Science and Technology was established in 1958, and was awarded the first-class master's degree and doctoral degree in 198 1 and 1993 respectively. In 2007, it was approved to build a postdoctoral mobile station.
In 2003 and 2007, respectively, the two disciplines of aircraft design were rated as key disciplines of the Commission of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense and disciplines with national defense characteristics, and in 2007, they were rated as national key cultivation disciplines.
Mechanics was founded in 1952, and 198 1 awarded the first-class master's degree. 1984, in 2003, two disciplines of engineering mechanics and the first-class discipline of mechanics were awarded doctoral degrees respectively, and 1999 was awarded postdoctoral mobile station.
In 2002, it was approved as a key discipline in Beijing, and in 20 12, it was approved as a key discipline for the integration of industrialization and informatization by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. In the fourth round of national discipline evaluation on 20 17, the discipline of aerospace science and technology ranked sixth and the discipline of mechanics ranked ninth.
At present, there are four departments of aircraft engineering, aircraft control, launch and propulsion engineering and mechanics, and four research institutes of deep space exploration technology, distributed spacecraft system technology, dynamics and control of large space structures and autonomous control of unmanned aerial vehicles.
Six undergraduate majors are offered, including aircraft design and engineering, aerospace engineering, aircraft power engineering, weapon launching engineering, detection guidance and control technology, and engineering mechanics.
There are two first-class disciplines of aerospace science and technology and mechanics, including doctoral and master's programs, and two postdoctoral mobile stations. Undertake the training of graduate students majoring in aerospace engineering.

Aircraft design and engineering, engineering mechanics were approved as national first-class undergraduate professional construction sites. "Undergraduate Education Team of Aircraft Master Design" was selected as an excellent undergraduate education team in Beijing universities.
The student science and technology innovation team "Eagle Team" won the Abu Dhabi International Unmanned System Challenge twice. 1 person won the excellent doctoral thesis of the first the State Council Discipline Evaluation Group for Aerospace Science and Technology.
There are three national-level "Excellent Achievement Award Winners of Engineering Master's Internship Practice"; First prize 1 and second prize 65438 in the first national undergraduate graduation design competition for aerospace majors.
In recent years, college teachers have undertaken 2 973 projects, more than 60 projects such as final assembly pre-research and key models, including 4 national key models, 65 438+0 major projects of the National Natural Science Foundation, 4 major projects and 65 438+0 major instrument projects.

The college laboratories are distributed in Zhongguancun, Liangxiang, Xishan and other campuses, with a total laboratory area of 12000 square meters and more than 4500 sets of experimental instruments and equipment. Responsible for the construction of three ministerial key laboratories and 1 national virtual simulation experiment teaching center.
