The teaching content meets the requirements of nationalization, localization, modernization and popularization, establishes a collective teaching system and strengthens artistic practice. During 1959, Qian Junrui, Vice Minister of the Central Ministry of Culture, visited the school and gave a good evaluation. The famous artistic creation in this period is the landscape painting "Tongpu Scenery" presented by Zhao, Huang and others for the anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China 10 and published in Art magazine, which has a great influence in the whole country. At the same time, teachers and students also actively participated in activities such as using woodcut to print leaflets to support North China and oppose U.S. imperialism, and inherited and carried forward the revolutionary fighting tradition of's emerging woodcut.
