Robinhood is an Internet financial service company that provides an online investment and trading platform. It was founded by Vladimir Tenev and Baiju Bhatt who graduated from Stanford University. In the same year, its application went online, creating a commission-free model for online investment transactions. Investors can use their applications to trade stocks, ETFs, options and even cryptocurrencies without paying commissions.

Robinhood is becoming more and more popular because of the launch of the zero commission trading platform. The users of Robinhood platform are mainly millennials aged from 18 to 35. In addition to providing stock trading services, the platform also provides trading open index fund (ETF) trading services, and launched the encrypted digital currency trading service in February last year.

Company valuation

Robin Hood's valuation in 20 14 was only $75 million. After raising $360 million in the D-round investment led by DST Global on May 18, 2008, the company's post-financing valuation reached $5.7 billion, making it the second largest Fintech startup in the United States. The company's investors include Sequoia Capital, Google's venture capital fund Capital G, Russian Internet investment companies DST Global and Iconiq.
