How does Buddhist charity enter the soul?

1. Buddhist compassion and charity compassion are the most basic concepts of Buddhism, and they are altruistic behaviors. In layman's terms, they are charity and public welfare undertakings. Regarding charity and public welfare, the Buddha has set the best example for us. It can be said that the Buddha is the greatest philanthropist in the world. There are many examples of compassion and helping others, protecting life and saving suffering in Buddhist scriptures. The Buddha gave his life to feed the tiger and the eagle. In order to completely solve the suffering of all beings, he became a monk and taught ten ways. The same is true of the ten buddhas and bodhisattvas: Amitabha is willing to spend forty-eight lives; The pharmacist Buddha eliminates diseases and disasters for all beings; Guanyin bodhisattva saves the suffering; Earth-treasure bodhisattva is enlightened in hell, etc. The compassion and willingness of all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas have deeply influenced the charity and public welfare of Buddhism. For thousands of years, most Buddhist groups, monasteries, monks and nuns in China have earnestly followed the teachings of the Buddha and made great contributions to saving the world, helping the poor, contributing to society and charity, which is widely praised by the world. There are many examples in the social welfare undertakings devoted by eminent monks in past dynasties. Some of them are institutionalized in the Northern Wei Dynasty, such as monks and millet, and Buddhist households. In the Tang Dynasty, there was an endless Tibetan system, and relief was popularized among the people. For example, Daoji and Zhiyan were famous examples. There were mourning fields for medical treatment and hospitals for the poor and sick in temples. Buddhist groups in the Song Dynasty took an active part in charitable undertakings, such as building bridges and paving roads, water conservancy projects, helping the poor and starving, raising abandoned babies and poor children, and setting up voluntary schools, orphanages, nursing homes, hospitals and even public cemeteries. The monks in the temple worked tirelessly to lead the believers to pay and contribute. There are also pharmacies run by monasteries, and monks who know how to treat are also medical monks. For example, Zen master Hong Yun built a sick workshop in Longguang Temple in the city of Shaanxi to accommodate the sick, which also benefited people suffering from dysentery, plague, leprosy. The stench and filth they emit are passed by by ordinary people, and monks not only take them in, but also wash and suck pus for them personally. They are not afraid of hard work, avoid filth and have no fear. This kind of compassionate spirit is amazing. As a result, various states and counties have also set up Anji Square to serve the sick. Monks take it as their duty to treat diseases, and also recite scriptures for the dead, handle burial and cremation, which is a one-stop service in modern words. After the Song Dynasty, the monks of major monasteries and Buddhist organizations were very enthusiastic about charity and public welfare, and they all actively participated in and promoted it. Nowadays, there are many Buddhist groups at home and abroad, which spare no effort to the charity and public welfare of Puli sentient beings in addition to preaching Buddhism. The Hong Kong Buddhist Federation, since its establishment more than 6 years ago, has established diversified social charity and welfare undertakings under the leadership of President Jueguang, in addition to preaching Buddhism. A number of Buddhist primary and secondary schools, kindergartens and schools for the mentally handicapped have been built, as well as youth recreation camps and youth centers. Buddhist hospitals, homes for the elderly, care and attention homes and centres for the elderly, and even Buddhist cemeteries have been built for the sick. In order to promote Buddhist culture, the Sangha Institute and Buddhist magazines and publications are run for the benefit of the public, so that the young can be taught, the old can be raised, the sick can be cured, and the dead can be safe. Master Zheng Yan of Taiwan Province founded Tzu Chi Buddhist charity. After 3 years of hard work, it has gradually developed into a global Buddhist charity and a model of Buddhist charity. In the spirit of compassion, we regularly visit nursing homes, blind people's homes, hospitals, sympathize with patients, help the poor and other activities. Since the late 199s, with the development of economy, Buddhist charitable organizations in mainland China have set up Buddhist charitable foundations in Fujian, Hunan, Hebei and other provinces, and other monasteries have followed suit and set up such organizations one after another. Many Buddhist groups at home and abroad, under the leadership of the master, gather the strength of all people and make efforts and contributions to social charity. I will not introduce them one by one. Second, Buddhist teachings and charity Buddhism is centered on Mahayana thought, Mahayana Bodhisattva is mainly to cultivate "six degrees", and the highest goal is to become a Buddha before all beings. "Six degrees" includes six aspects: giving, keeping precepts, enduring humiliation, diligence, meditation and wisdom. The first time is giving, which is the only way for ordinary people to enter the holy position and reach the other side of nirvana. Giving has three meanings: first, dharma giving, that is, the spread of Buddhism; The second is financial aid, that is, to help the poor with property, supply and demand and other welfare undertakings; The third is fearlessness, which gives people spiritual comfort and encouragement. Whether it is dharma giving, financial giving or fearless giving, the requirement for the giver himself should be "three rounds of empty body", that is, as a giver, he does not seek merit or unexpected return, and taking giving as a part of our life is the basis for achieving Buddhism and Taoism. There is also an idea in Buddhism, that is, the concept of Fukuda. Fukuda is planted in order to achieve a good fortune, which can be roughly divided into respecting fields and mourning fields. Jingtian is to protect Buddhism, respect ethics and teachers, and provide support for Sambo's parents and teachers. Sad field is a public welfare undertaking that helps the sick, the poor, the widowed, the elderly and the disabled, and even cares for or adopts animals and benefits others. In addition, Buddhism also has the concept of repaying kindness, that is, my survival depends on the kindness given by all sentient beings and ruthlessness related to me. Specifically, we should repay four kinds of kindness: three treasures, parents' kindness, country's kindness and all beings' kindness, which is a concept with religious, family, environmental and social characteristics. Third, the wisdom is given. The rich and the poor are all stained with six degrees. The last link is "wisdom". When implementing the first five degrees, every degree is indispensable. Why? If there is no wisdom when giving, it is easy to "do bad things with good intentions!" Besides, in today's society, people are unpredictable. What is "wisdom"? Strictly speaking, we should understand the truth of "the origin is empty"; Simply put, it is to understand cause and effect. The world is big, the population is large, the development in different places is uneven, and the gap between the rich and the poor is very large. Take China as an example. It is a country with a population of 1.3 billion. It is learned that there are 3 million poor people in rural areas, 3 million people with minimum living allowance in urban areas and more than 5 million disabled people. Coupled with natural and man-made disasters every year, the national security system is far from solving these problems, and it needs the help of social charitable organizations. Buddhist charity and public welfare undertakings not only help the disadvantaged groups in society and provide property, but also need to give spiritual support and purify people's hearts with Buddhism. Poor people can be simply classified into two categories: first, material poverty, both, and spiritual poverty. For people with material poverty, money and material can be used to alleviate or solve their physical pain; But people who are mentally poor can't solve it with money and material things. The wisdom of giving should be matched, and the property should be implemented to those who really need it. For the material poor, while giving them money and material things, we should also make them gain spiritual benefits, inspire them to strive for self-improvement, improve their poverty problems by self-reliance, understand the cause and effect, act in accordance with the "causal law", and be grateful. As for the mentally poor, we should care about their spiritual needs, how to maintain their physical and mental health, and how to find the true meaning of life. The possession of money and material is not the definition of happiness. The real happiness is that their hearts are purified and their compassion and joy are brought into play. No matter what kind of help is given to the above two kinds of poor people, it is necessary to use "wisdom", so as to gradually narrow the gap between the rich and the poor in society. Giving needs wisdom. Let me cite two examples. First, some people subsidize the children of laid-off workers to study, and the children finally passed the exam. However, his father is good at playing mahjong, and he lives at the mahjong table with a newspaper and a cup of tea every day, which really makes people lose confidence. Both: In some places, there are schools, but there are few students. According to the analysis, there are two reasons. The first is that many bosses are determined to donate a school to their hometown every year after they are developed. The second is that in those faraway places, the level of teachers is low. How many teachers are willing to stay in humble places and educate the next generation? If the teacher's level is low, what will the students be like! Children are the masters of society in the future. In addition to learning knowledge, they should also cultivate their morality and etiquette, be humble to others, respect each other, and care for public property, so that society will have more hope in the future. Therefore, it is more important to donate schools, or to train teachers with morality and intelligence first. Looking back, at the beginning of 28, nature changed one after another, including snowstorms, windstorms, rainstorms, high oil prices and the pressure of inflation. Even on May 12th, without warning, an earthquake of magnitude 8 occurred in Wenchuan, Sichuan, causing great trauma and pain to compatriots in the disaster area. Not only do people suffer serious economic losses, but also the grief of losing their loved ones. People from all walks of life need help to rebuild the disaster areas and relieve the people's difficulties, and moral support for them is also extremely important. For example, on Children's Day on June 1st this year, some groups donated many batches of materials, school supplies and donations to schools in the disaster areas in order to enable local children to live a warm festival. Apart from money and material things, we should give them proper comfort, guide their own self-cultivation, be modest and courteous among people in daily necessities, don't forget gratitude, and repay the society whenever possible and become useful people in society. If both financial and legal measures are applied, the recipients will benefit both physically and mentally. Iv. Buddhist Charity and Future Prospect The domestic religious policy has been implemented, and the Buddhist cause is prosperous. It is a good opportunity to promote Buddhism and develop Buddhist charity. I suggest the following points, hoping to play a role in attracting jade: First, Buddhist charity and public welfare undertakings need talents who know Buddhism, are trained and have intellectual and moral qualities to manage, co-ordinate and promote them. Therefore, it is imperative to train talents and teachers. Third, giving is not only done by rich people, or when they are rich. Although it is only a penny, it seems to be small, and the merits can be great. There are many examples recorded in Buddhist scriptures, such as the poor woman giving alms. She only used an oil lamp to support the Buddha and got great blessings. And if you don't accumulate small streams, you can't become rivers; If you don't accumulate steps, you can't travel thousands of miles. As long as we turn compassion into motivation and make good use of wisdom, no matter whether we are poor or rich, everyone can become a successful giver. Fourth, it is necessary to implement the concept of "all evils should be avoided, and the spirit of helping others should be deeply rooted in the hearts of the people. On this occasion, everyone can give charity at any time and anywhere. For example, in our daily life, when we see the faucet dripping and the light is not needed, we turn it off and take it away when we see the banana peel on the road, so that people will not slip. Giving people convenience and joy with compassionate eyes, words and faces is charity. At present, China's monasteries are spread all over the country, and there are a wide range of belief groups. As long as these forces are gathered together, and those with money, strong contributions and expertise are brought into play, China's Buddhist charity can develop rapidly. Let's start with ourselves, start with a little charity action, take practical actions with our body, mouth and mind, and work hard for the solemn land, be happy and affectionate, spread the Dharma and benefit the life, make the world harmonious, and make the due contribution of Buddhists!
