On July 18, 2009, the launching ceremony and development seminar of "Diao's chiropractic" municipal scientific research project for treating "vertigo cardiac neurosis" jointly organized by Beijing Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Beijing Municipal Health Bureau, China Medical and Health Development Foundation and China Folk Chinese Medicine Research and Development Association was held in Beijing. This research project is a clinical research project of integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine approved by Beijing Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine. This is the first time that Beijing Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine has supported the research on clinical appropriate technology of folk Chinese medicine. The purpose is to better tap the folk characteristic technology and benefit the people. Professor Diao Wenyu's clinical research on Meniere's disease (Meniere's disease syndrome) found that Meniere's disease was caused by dislocation of occipital atlantoaxial joint, compression of the third segment of vertebral artery, distortion, insufficient blood supply and oxygen supply to the basilar artery of the brain, vestibulocochlear nerve's dysfunction and nerve endings in the inner ear. At the same time, the compression of the sympathetic nerve on the neck causes cerebral vasospasm, which further aggravates the ischemia of the brain stem and the inner ear artery, resulting in dizziness, tinnitus, deafness and other symptoms.

From 2065438 to June 2004, the clinical research project of "Diao's chiropractic therapy" for Meniere's disease undertaken by xuanwu hospital of Capital Medical University passed the completion acceptance of the Beijing Science and Technology Project of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and achieved remarkable therapeutic effect.
