Where is Yangen University?

Majia Town, Luojiang District, Quanzhou City, Fujian Province.

Yang-En University is located in Quanzhou, a famous historical and cultural city in the country. It is the first private university in the country with the qualification to issue national undergraduate diplomas and bachelor's degrees. The school is the patriotic education base of the China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese.

Yang'en University was founded in 1987 with investment from the Yang'en Foundation. The founder is Wu Qingxing, a patriotic overseas Chinese.

The school was formerly known as Yangen College of Huaqiao University. In 1989, with the approval of the National Education Commission, it separated from Huaqiao University and established Yangen College. In 1992, it was renamed Yangen University.

Historical evolution: In March 1992, the State Education Commission informed the Fujian Provincial Government that “with the approval of the State Council, it is agreed that your province will establish Yangen University on the basis of Yangen College.”

In 1993, the State Education Commission sent a special delegation to the Yangen Foundation to suggest that Mr. Wu should be the sole proprietor of the school and turn Yangen University into a private university serving as a pilot project for national education reform.

In December 2007, Yangen University signed a support and cooperation agreement with Xiamen University.

In 2008, Yangen University passed the undergraduate teaching level evaluation of the Ministry of Education with good results.

In March 2018, Yang'en University was awarded the title of "Smart Teaching Pilot Project" by the Online Education Research Center of the Ministry of Education.

In March 2019, Yangen University became the executive director unit of the Fujian University Industrial College Development Alliance.

In October, the school was approved by the Ministry of Education as the second batch of pilot colleges for the “1+X” vocational skills grade certificate system.
