Qi Xin graduated from China University of Political Science and Law. In 2008, he served as a visiting professor and master tutor at the School of Journalism and Communication of Xiamen University.

He is now a senior editor of the overseas edition of People's Daily. He is also the tutor of Xiamen University graduate students.
