In order to standardize and strengthen the management of projects funded by the director of the Science Department of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, these Provisions are formulated in accordance with the Regulations of the National Natural Science Foundation and the Regulations on Project Management of the National Natural Science Foundation (for Trial Implementation).

The director's fund project of the Ministry of Science is used to support short-term and emergency research projects in principle. The project funding intensity is less than 200,000 yuan (including 200,000 yuan). The research projects funded by the director's fund of the Ministry of Science shall be funded by quota, and the quota requirements shall be implemented in accordance with the relevant provisions of the project management of the National Natural Science Foundation.
