Since June 2006, he has served as the vice president of the Graduate School of China Renmin University.
He used to be a member and deputy secretary-general of the Ninth Academic Committee of China Renmin University, and now he is the director of Bell Environmental Research Center of China Renmin University, the director of Small and Medium-sized Enterprise Research Center of China Renmin University, the deputy secretary-general of the Tenth Academic Committee of China Renmin University, the member of the fifth evaluation team of business administration discipline of the State Council Academic Degree Committee, the member of the National MBA Education Steering Committee, the vice president of China Enterprise Management Research Association, and the president of Beijing Modern Enterprise Research Association, enjoying special government allowance from the State Council.
Professor Erming Xu has been engaged in research on strategic management, organization theory, international management and education management for many years. He has presided over five provincial and ministerial-level projects, such as the National Natural Science Foundation Project "Research on the Influence of Organizational Field on Innovation and Performance in Entrepreneurial Enterprise Clusters" and "Research on the Correlation between Governance Structure and Performance of Listed Companies in Different Industry Groups", the National Social Science Project "Enterprise Strategic Management Innovation under the Network Economy", the research on innovative postgraduate training mode in Beijing universities and the research on high-tech enterprise management.
He has written many books and case collections, such as Enterprise Strategic Management, Introduction to International Enterprise Management, and dozens of academic papers, such as Empirical Research on the Influence of Substitution Effect of Supervision Mechanism on Performance of Listed Companies, Competitiveness Evaluation and Dynamic Evolution Analysis of China Iron and Steel Enterprises, and also wrote a column on Strategy and Decision in Economic Daily.
