The Soong Ching Ling Camphor Tree Award is a national award established in 1985 to commemorate the honorary president of the country Soong Ching Ling, inherit and carry forward her spirit of caring for women and loving children, and further promote the development of the cause of women and children in our country.
It is awarded once every two years to commend people in my country who have long been engaged in women's and children's health care and children's culture and education and have made significant contributions, as well as a group of famous overseas people who are engaged in and care about women and children's causes.
Famous children's workers Xie Bingxin, Chen Bochui, Zhang Leping, Gao Shiqi, etc. have all received this honor.
As of October 2006, the Soong Ching Ling Camphor Tree Award has been awarded for 13 times, and 103 people who have made significant contributions and outstanding achievements in the fields of maternal and child health care and children's education have won this award.
