Chen Xingjia's resignation is an open issue. We don't have to rush to blame anything, but we can consider how to let high-profile officials and low-key officials have their own development space, how to let the public know about the actual operation of grass-roots governments and avoid misunderstanding and embarrassment.

At the grassroots level, even at the level of the county party secretary, it is often more or less "mysterious". It is difficult for the public to know the true joys and sorrows of officials through convenient channels, and they can only read their whereabouts and remarks in local newspapers. Chen Xingjia's outspoken attitude has undoubtedly opened a window for the public to "look up" officials. Grassroots officials are not so tall and have no shortcomings, but they actually have respectable responsibilities and ideals.

A reporter in Hubei privately commented on Chen: "He is a great man, loyal to his heart, strong outside, honest and clean, and there will naturally be public opinion about what he has done." Obviously, there are more criticisms of his high-profile behavior within the system. It's hard to say which evaluation is wrong. There are realistic considerations behind this seemingly opposite evaluation.
