Since its establishment in 1986, the main work of the center is as follows: 1. Academic seminars; 2. Publication of academic seminar papers; 3. Overseas young scholars' return visit plan; 4. Federation members and their papers.

1. Academic seminars

Since its establishment more than ten years ago, the Center has organized more than 2 special academic seminars every year, which are presided over by scientists at home and abroad who are working in the forefront of various scientific and technological fields, among which interdisciplinary academic conferences have received special attention. From 1986 to 24, a total of 338 academic seminars were held, with a total of 18, 466 participants. Among them, there were 18 international academic seminars with 1,61 participants. There were 32 academic seminars in China, with 16, 856 participants. The activities of the Center promoted the level of relevant scientific fields in China and increased the exchange of science and technology at home and abroad, especially among young scientists. Academic conferences on environmental science are especially valued by domestic academic circles and relevant departments.

2. Proceedings of academic seminars

Some academic conferences hosted by the Center discuss the latest scientific research topics, others discuss scientific research topics with long-term influence, and most of the report materials are not available or difficult to find in the literature. To this end, in response to the needs of the scientific community, the center publishes the collections of each academic conference for free use by national scientists and graduate students. From 1986 to 24, a total of 175 collections of essays were published.

3. Young visiting scholars returning to China

In p>199, under the circumstances that western countries imposed sanctions on China at that time, the Center, with the support of China Academy of Sciences, State Planning Commission and National Natural Science Foundation, implemented the "Overseas Young Scholars' Visiting Plan", which maintained the exchanges between foreign cutting-edge science and China, greatly increased the understanding and contact of China scholars abroad, especially young scholars, and promoted young scholars abroad to return to China. From 199 to 24, the total number of young returned scholars was 192.

4. Association members and their papers

According to the evaluation criteria established by the Center, all theoretical physicists who have made achievements in scientific research can apply to become association members of the Center. Papers published in the world's important scientific academic journals must reach the international level and undergo extremely strict peer review. Therefore, the center encourages its members to publish their research results in the most important academic journals in the world, so as to improve the level of domestic research work. From 1986 to 24, the total number of theoretical physics papers published by the members of the Federation in the world's highest-level scientific journals was 3991.
