June 1999 On the 9th, with the approval of the board of directors of the China Medical Board of New York (CMB), the Institute for International Medical Education (IIME) was established. The committee's mission is to provide guidance for the development of "global minimum basic requirements" for undergraduate medical education (hereinafter referred to as "basic requirements"). "Basic requirements" refer to the basic qualities that doctors trained in medical schools around the world must possess, including medical knowledge, clinical skills, professional attitudes, behavior and professional ethics. The task of formulating the "Basic Requirements" was undertaken by IIME's Core Committee, which consists of medical education experts from around the world.
