Lin Zhiliang is currently a member of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, a visiting professor at the School of Art of Yanshan University, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Buddhist Calligraphy and Painting, and the honorary president of the Xiamen Fujian and Taiwan Academy of Painting and Calligraphy.
He devoted himself to calligraphy and music, and took the promotion of Buddhism as his own responsibility. He practiced it personally, was humble, and was highly praised by his colleagues.
Mr. Lin Zhiliang transforms people into characters and helps the world with charity. He has held many charity sales of calligraphy works. All proceeds from the charity sales have been donated to poor households, poor students and disaster victims in Tong'an, Qinghai, Taiwan, Ningxia and other places to help the poor and educate students. In 2002, the "Lin Zhiliang Calligraphy Concert" was held in Xiamen; in 2004, the "Lin Zhiliang Calligraphy Exhibition and Music Gala" was held in Tong'an and Quanzhou; in 2005, he went to Taiwan to hold the "Tour of Treasure Island, Lin Zhiliang Calligraphy Exhibition", which caused a stir on both sides of the Taiwan Strait.
It caused a sensation. The chairman and secretary-general of Taiwan’s Kuomintang, pro-government and new parties presented more than 200 plaques and baskets to congratulate them. On the fourth auspicious day of the first lunar month in 2009, Jia Qinglin, Chairman of the Mongolian National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, met with him at Haiyue Villa in Xiamen. They had great exchanges and great blessings.
On August 30, 2010, Lin Zhiliang won the Master of Arts and Crafts and Elite Award favored by Chinese collectors. On September 14, 2010, Mr. Lin Zhiliang was elected as the Honorary President of the Lianhua Town Education Promotion Association. On February 24, 2011, Lin Zhiliang was recently awarded the Hong Kong Foreign Exchange Award.
The Cultural and Art Exchange Association (Arts Association) appointed him as the permanent honorary president of the association. Recently, Dr. Guo Qingzhong, the chairman of the association, went to Lin Zhiliang’s residence in Xiamen to present the honorary appointment letter in person.
