"Artificial Intelligence and Robotics" is a theme of AAAI 215. From the perspective of discipline foundation, the discipline of artificial intelligence studies some fundamental limitations and technical principles in the process of "intelligent behavior mechanization" from the philosophical question of "what is intelligence". On the other hand, from the perspective of engineering application, robotics considers how to actually manufacture machines that meet specific "intelligent" requirements. The two fields should be complementary. The robot field provides opportunities for experiments and practice for the artificial intelligence field, while the artificial intelligence field provides knowledge reserves and technical tools for the robot field. "But in fact, the research in the two fields is largely divorced from each other and developed independently. So now people begin to think about how to strengthen cooperation and mutual penetration in these two fields, "Professor Sven Koenig, chairman of the academic committee of this conference, mentioned in a conversation. In fact, the NSF-National Science Foundation organized a special seminar on this issue during the meeting (only invited experts in the field can attend).
