1On August 2nd, 944, Wang Zhiyuan was born in the east of Bieqiao Town, liyang city.

From 65438 to 0957, Wang Zhiyuan was admitted to Liyang Middle School.

1963 was admitted to Nanjing Institute of Chemical Technology. He has worked in Jinzhou Pharmaceutical Factory and Liaoning Petrochemical Design Institute successively.

1978 was admitted to the Institute of Environmental Science, Graduate School of Beijing Normal University. Because there was no direction of environmental toxicology at that time, the Ministry of Education specially invited Professor Yang Xiangui (Dr. S.K.Yang), an internationally renowned carcinogen from the American University of Military Health Sciences, as an academic research tutor.

After graduation, he engaged in "Occupational and Cancer Research" in the Institute of Labor Protection Science of the Ministry of Labor and Personnel. He went to America as a visiting scholar in the mid-1980s. He has worked in case western reserve university, Rutgers University, Columbia University and American Health Foundation, and has been engaged in the research of tumor and tea, tumor and traditional Chinese medicine.

Conney, director of the Institute of Oncology, School of Pharmacy, Rutgers University, as an academician of the National Academy of Sciences, recommended to the American degree certification institutions that Wang Zhiyuan be awarded "a doctorate equivalent to that awarded by American universities (chemistry and toxicology)". Columbia University certified this doctoral degree and was directly employed as an associate professor of research in 1995, engaged in cancer prevention and treatment research.

He was also employed by the American Health Foundation as a senior researcher and scientific adviser to the President to coordinate and organize interdisciplinary research projects. He is also a visiting research professor at New Jersey Institute of Technology and deputy director of the Center for Bioinformatics and Systems Research.

Considering that "tea and cancer" is an important topic related to people's health all over the world, 1988, with the special approval of former Minister of Personnel Zhao Dongwan, the China Embassy informed the US government that Wang Zhiyuan did not need to return to China to work, and stayed in the United States to complete the project of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and continue to engage in scientific research.

In 2000, he changed his identity and became an American citizen.
