China's "retirement tide" is coming. Some people say that 2 million people will retire every year in the next decade. This statement is somewhat exaggerated. In 1962, China ushered in another baby boom after the founding of the People's Republic of China, and the annual birth population for the next 1 years was around 25 million to 27 million. These people will reach the age of 6 in the next 1 years, which will be the direct cause of the "retirement tide". However, the "retirement tide" is not so serious. According to the Statistical Bulletin on the Development of Human Resources and Social Security in 221 published by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the number of retirees in China reached 131.57 million by the end of 221, an increase of 3.95 million compared with the number of retirees at the end of 221. If it is assumed that 3.5 million retirees have died, it is estimated that the number of new retirees will be 7.5 million in 221. The actual figure is very close to this. According to the Tenth Five-Year Plan for the Development of Human Resources and Social Security, there will be about 4 million new retirees during the Tenth Five-Year Plan period, with an average of about 8 million new retirees every year. As the average life expectancy in China is getting longer and longer, the number of new retirees will continue to be much higher than the number of deceased retirees for a long time to come, with a net increase of about 4 million retirees almost every year. The so-called number of retirees actually refers to the number of recipients who participate in the basic old-age insurance for urban employees in China, including the basic old-age insurance for enterprise employees and the basic old-age insurance for employees in institutions and institutions. The main body of retirees is not necessarily the elderly over 6. According to our current legal retirement age policy: (1) The retirement age of female management and professional technicians is 55 years old, that of other ordinary female employees is 5 years old, and that of male employees is 6 years old. (2) The conditions for female flexible employees to receive pensions are that they have reached the age of 55 and have paid the accumulated pension insurance for 15 years. Male flexible employees receive a pension at the age of 6, which is generally not described as retirement. (3) For employees who are engaged in special types of work and meet the corresponding requirements, women can retire at the age of 45 and men at the age of 55. (4) Employees who lose their ability to work due to illness and non-work can retire when women reach 45 years of age and men reach 5 years of age. In addition, there are some people who have resigned before reaching retirement age. In some places, the system of disability allowance has been established, and those who receive disability allowance are also those who receive pension benefits. How high is the level of pension benefits for retired people? According to the official figures, the total expenditure of the basic endowment insurance fund for employees in China last year was 5,648.1 billion yuan, and the average monthly pension insurance fund treatment for each person was 3,577 yuan. Of course, the expenditure of the endowment insurance fund includes certain funeral subsidies, pension expenses, inheritance of the balance of the deceased personal account, subsidies for the difficulties of supporting relatives in the past, and so on. The per capita pension benefits are definitely much lower. It is estimated that the per capita monthly pension will be around 32,3 yuan. According to the figures in the Official Gazette, in fact, the treatment received by the elderly who participate in the endowment insurance for urban and rural residents is also called pension. By the end of 221, there were 162.13 million recipients of pension insurance benefits for urban and rural residents in China, most of whom were over 6 years old. The annual pension fund expenditure was 371.5 billion yuan, and the average monthly pension per person was only 19 yuan. Since there are 267 million elderly people over the age of 6 in China, it is estimated that about 1 million people will receive pension benefits if we consider that 5 million people do not enjoy the old-age insurance benefits for urban and rural residents. The number of elderly people receiving pension benefits in this way accounts for about 37.4% of the total number of elderly people. Generally speaking, the number of elderly people who receive monthly pensions after retirement is not large, and there is only one in about three elderly people.
