The first trial time of birth defect intervention and assistance shall not exceed 5 working days from the date when the project implementation unit receives the application materials. The birth defect rescue project is initiated by the National Health and Wellness Committee and the China Birth Defect Intervention and Rescue Foundation, and supported by the central special lottery public welfare fund. The range of diseases includes three categories: hereditary metabolic diseases, congenital structural malformations and functional birth defects.
