The National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars (hereinafter referred to as Jieqing Fund) is a science fund specially established in China to promote the growth of young scientific and technological talents, encourage overseas scholars to return to work, and accelerate the training of a number of outstanding academic leaders who have entered the forefront of world science and technology.
During the Tenth Five-Year Plan period, the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars supported about 160 outstanding young scholars every year, and each person's support was generally 800-1000,000 yuan, with a research period of 4 years.
The National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars supports young scholars who have made outstanding achievements in basic research to choose their own research directions to carry out innovative research, promote the growth of young scientific and technological talents, attract overseas talents, and cultivate a group of outstanding academic leaders who have entered the forefront of world science and technology. The Fund supports outstanding young scholars from China who are working full-time in Chinese mainland to engage in basic research in natural science. The mainland of China referred to in this Fund refers to the provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government of China except Hongkong, Macau and Taiwan Province. The National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars is accepted once a year.
