Beijing Federation of Social Sciences (hereinafter referred to as Beijing Federation of Social Sciences) was established in July, 1983. It is a people's organization under the leadership of Beijing Municipal Committee, a joint organization of academic social organizations in Beijing social sciences, and a bridge and link between the party and the government and social science workers in the capital. After more than 2 years of development, Beijing Social Science Association has become a joint organization of 113 societies (associations, research associations), 31 private social science research institutions, 9 social science foundations and more than 1, members in philosophy, politics, law, economics, history, education, linguistics, literature and sociology.

Beijing Social Science Federation is the home of social science workers in the capital. Beijing Socialism with Chinese characteristics Theory System Research Center Office, Beijing Social Science Publishing Fund Office, Beijing Social Science Outstanding Achievement Award Office and Editorial Board Office of Contemporary Beijing are also located in Beijing Social Science Federation.

After more than 2 years' development, Beijing Social Science Association has formed many brand work projects and built a series of service platforms for the research and popularization of social sciences in the capital. The China Forum of Marxism, the academic frontier forum, the forum of "Hundred Talents Project" for young and middle-aged scholars, the summit forum of social science and natural science, the quarterly discussion meeting of decision-making, the social science popularization week, the community lecture hall on weekends and other activities have exerted more and more influence and achieved more and more results.
